Philip Sindy

Philip Sindy studied trumpet, jazz and popular music at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin and at the Royal Academy of Music London. He has performed in theatre and musical productions at the Friedrichstadtpalast and the Deutchen Theater in Berlin. He tours and records regularly with some of the big names in the pop industry like Patrice, Shaggy oder Kelly Rowland. His work in Jazz and World Music projects has resulted in performances all over the world and he also performs in a number of Salsa and Timba groups. He is currently a member of Ebo Taylor and the Afrobeat Academy as well as Pat Thomas and the Kwashibu Area Band from Ghana.

Philip teaches trumpet at the Global Music Academy in Berlin. He travels to Dar es Salaam regularly to give workshops for Brass and he has designed the program for Brass instruments (trumpet and trombone) for the Campus which will be taught for the first time in Malawi at the 2018 South East African Campus.
