Music Crossroads Mozambique is an arts and culture organization which for the past years has fueled creativity, innovation and cultural diversity for the youth through Music. Due to its diversity, the organization today is regarded as a hub that has nurtured talented musicians who have made it big in the Mozambican music industry. As a youth organization, we have reached a large audience in Southern Africa through the various activities such as festivals; and workshops aimed at enhancing the knowledge of all stakeholders in the sector. The establishment of the Music Crossroads Academy in 2013 has contributed immensely to the development of the music sector in Mozambique.

Music Crossroads Academy in Zimbabwe was established in is a vibrant development oriented institution that uses music as a tool for youth empowerment. In 2013 we established a Music Academy which to date has enrolled 178 students into a one year Certificate program which has sent them teaching at various music school in and out of Zimbabwe, producing in studios, playing in professional bands and contributing to festivals and other notable music businesses.

The Bayimba Academy is the education program of the Bayimba Cultural Foundation offering a comprehensive range of training and exchange programs designed to enhance creative, professional and entrepreneurial skills among artists, thereby stimulating inter- and intra-disciplinary collaborations and improving their career opportunities in their chosen field. Over the next five years the Foundation will develop its current informal training program into a structured arts education program to be hosted at the future Bayimba Centre for Visual and Performing Arts. The 2 year professional training program being developed at the East African Global Music Campus will become an integral part of this program.

Action Music Tanzania is currently developing the first professional music training program for young musicians in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania using an innovative new curriculum being developed together with the Global Music Academy in Berlin through the East African Global Music Campus with the support of the Goethe-Institut and and European Union.

Centre for Performing Arts Jaffna – Institutional Partner Global Music International
Centre for Performing Arts Jaffna (Sri Lanka)

Founded in Jaffna in 1965, The Centre for Performing Arts is Sri Lanka’s longest standing organization using arts for peace building. The centre focuses on the performing arts as a method for conflict resolution, healing and promoting co-existence and mutual cooperation between people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds. Because of their unique method of approaching peace building, the Centre were able to spread from Jaffna to all other areas of the country. At present there are more than 25 centres in different parts of the Sri Lanka, speaking both Sinhala and Tamil.

Swami Vipulananda Institute of Aesthetic Studies (Sri Lanka)

The Swami Vipulananda College of Music and Dance (SVCMD) was established in 1981 by the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Hindu Culture. Subsequently, the SVCMD was handed over to the Ministry of Higher Education in 2001 and affiliated with the Eastern University, Sri Lanka in 2002 when the University Grants Commission permitted EUSL to enroll diploma holders of the Swami Vipulananda College of Music and Dance for a degree programme in the Department of Fine Arts. Then the SVCMD was renamed as Swami Vipulananda Institute of Aesthetic Studies.

Bulbulik Heritage Centre (Pakistan)

Bulbulik Heritage Centre Gulmit, known as Bulbulik Music School is the first Wakhi/Pamirian folk music School in Gojal valley, upper Hunza in Gilgit/Baltistan. The Bulbulik is a project of the Gulmit Educational & Social Welfare Society (GESWS), initiated with an aim to preserve and promote the rich but endangered heritage of Wakhi people living in the Gojal valley.
